Habilitation is time spent working on a child's goals. These may range from working on attention span by learning colors and letters, working on fine motor skills by writing and stringing beads, working on making choices in public by choosing a movie at the theatre, etc... Habilitation requires that you keep track of the child's progress on data sheets and submit those data sheets monthly. Your Hab sheets will be tailored to your child's goals but if you don't have them yet, you can use these BLANK DATA SHEETS.

Attendant Care is not authorized for all children in our program but if your kiddo has it, it pertains to care of one's own body. It usually consists of helping the child with things like brushing teeth, washing hair, combing hair, dressing skills, etc... Attendant Care requires that you keep track of the activities you've completed each day on a checklist and submit that checklist monthly. You can download an ATC CHECKLIST HERE.

Respite is caring for a child while his or her primary care giver takes a break. The parent/guardian can choose to remain in the home taking a nap, a bath, watching TV, or he/she may leave the home to go on a date, take other children out, etc... Respite requires no additional paperwork, just a signed time sheet.

Early Childhood Habilitation is a more intense form of Habilitation (see green section above) for kids with autism age 2 - 6 who are in the Applied Behavior Analysis (or Hab Masters) program. These kids usually have a very structured program with advanced oversight and more hours per week. These positions are generally reserved for providers with experience and/or education in the field. Paperwork requirements are tailored to the child and vary case by case.

The Early Learning Center for autism is a preschool program that incorporates applied behavior analysis and is overseen by an on-site BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). These positions are reserved for experienced providers with BHT (Behavior Heath Technician) certification or RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification. Paperwork requirements are tailored to the child and vary case by case.
